Volunteers of ADPR,

As many of you know, Alaska Dog and Puppy Rescue is participating in the Adopt A Highway program in the Valley.  Our 2 mile stretch is between La Fronteras School to Little Miller's on Bogard.  Our first CLEAN FUN in the SUN DAY will be Saturday, April 27.  We'll meet up around 10 am in the Little Miller's parking lot and go til around 2pm, which leaves plenty of time to enjoy the rest of your weekend.

If you have a yellow t-shirt you might wear it to increase visibility.  We'll provide gloves (latex free), yellow vests, bottled water, and trash bags.  I hope the sun will have dried up all the snow by then.  I'm hoping!

If there are any questions, please contact Ann at mabeau2@hotmail.com.  Paul and I hope to see some familiar and new faces on Saturday.

We know it's been awhile since we have had puppies available for adoption. Wait no longer...we have a litter of 7 Lab mix puppies available this weekend. The litter consists of 4 girls and 3 boys. They will be 8 weeks old on Saturday and are ready to go to their forever homes! They will be available at Petzoo in Eagle River on Saturday, April 27th, 2013  (Keep reading for more details :)

We do not know much about this litter, other than we were happy to take them in when they were just days old. They were found by a very concerned citizen all in a box and appeared to just be days old; some even still had the umbilical cord attached. One of our dedicated volunteers took care of them for the first 6 weeks of their lives. We also were blessed to have someone call in out of sheer coincidence asking if we needed help with puppies that needed nursing. His dog had just had 2 puppies, one of which was stillborn and so she had extra milk to give. She took to the orphaned pups just fine and they continued to grow and are very healthy rambunctious little pups now. The last couple of weeks they have been in foster homes and learning new skills that they will need to have to be good new companions and family members.

They will be available this Saturday, April 27, 2013 at our adoption clinic in Eagle River at Petzoo. The clinic starts at 1 p.m. and we will not adopt out any before this time. We also adopt on a first come, first come basis as well as best fit. We do reserve the right to not adopt out to someone even if they were there first if it is in the best interest of the puppy.  If you are interested in adopting one, please feel free to fill out our adoption questionnaire ahead of time by downloading one here

The adoption fee is $220 in cash. The adoption fee covers their spay/neuter, age-appropriate shots, foster care needs and any other medical care they may have needed while in our care.
