The Adoption Process

Our dogs can be adopted at one of our adoption clinics or in the home of the foster family.

Our volunteers try to match dogs/puppies with potential adopters that are well-suited for the needs of the dog.  When seemingly equivalent adoptive homes may be available, ADPR will operate on a first come, first serve basis.
We will only adopt to adults 21 years of age or older who have approprate housing for the breed, size, care requirements and time to spend with the dog on a regular basis.  They must agree to abide by all landlord and homeowner association rules including number, breed and size of pets permitted. ADPR reserves the right to visit the adoptive home before or after placement of the dog.

All adopters must complete a satisfactory adoption interview and required paperwork.  ADPR reserves the right to deny an adoption if the match does not seem appropriate.

We strongly encourage all perspective adopters to do their homework, research dog breeds to find the one that will best fit their lifestyle, honestly assess the time they have to raise a puppy and take into consideration other animals in the home.
We have lots of informative links on a variety of different subjects worth looking at here.

Below is the required adoption questionnaire that must be completed before our dogs and puppies can be adopted out. These forms can also be found at our adoption clinics each Saturday.
