Holly

Picture
Holly is a very smart dog.  She likes to be busy.  She would like a job:  herding cattle, or riding fence, or exploring new terrain. She would be happiest with a single person to bond to and be with most of the time, although she seems to like people in general.  Older kids should be fine, but not young ones that do not understand her need to herd.  She is kennel and house trained, but this might need reinforcing in a new situation.  She will whine in the kennel if she still needs more attention or exercise.

Holly likes to ride in the car, does not chew inappropriately, and is generally very agreeable if you are willing to give her attention.  She would not do well being kenneled for long periods, or being left alone often.  She would really just like to be a constant companion to someone who has an active life.

Holly is doing very well skijoring.  She is a good puller, and enjoys racing along the trails.  She still wants to greet people and dogs along the way, but is learning to go 'on by.'  She likes to chase, so somethings that is a motivating force.  Her strength is her endurance, not her speed.  I usually take her out with one of my other dogs.  She gets tangled much less that when we began 3 weeks ago.
